Highly successful launch of Boardwave
On the 14th of September, Simon Hill attended the launch event of Boardwave, www.boardwave.org, a new high-powered networking and mentoring community for European Software leaders. It has been founded by Phill Robinson, himself an experienced Chairman, CEO and Non-Executive board member of the Software industry.
Boardwave is uniquely seeking to connect all of the most talented European Software founders, CEOs, NEDs and Chairs - whatever their stage of development, from start-ups to large PE-backed businesses - so that they can share experiences, ideas and best practice, and mentor one another. The end objective is to help develop better leaders and foster a generation of successful businesses capable of competing on a global scale.
Phill Robinson invited Liberty to become a sponsor partner of Boardwave following his experience of working with us on the sale of Exact to KKR, where we advised the management team on their equity terms and the implementation of a new incentive plan with KKR.
The launch event in London brought together an impressive array of talent, more than 200 of Boardwave’s 450+ members from across the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Germany and Italy, with the goal of helping attendees make new connections and meaningful relationships.
“The Boardwave Launch Event was the most complete gathering of European software CEOs & Founders ever assembled.”
To assist the discussion and debate, attendees had been polled prior to the event to see what the most important issues are to them at the moment. The four that rose to the top were: Scaling Sales, The War for Talent and Retaining your People, Delivering Customer Value, and Managing in a Challenging Economy. Each corner of the room then openly debated one of these issues amongst their designated audience.
This month, Boardwave kicks-off its Dinner debate series and in the New Year will be starting its mentoring programme.
If you are a senior executive involved in the European Software industry and would like to explore becoming a member of Boardwave (which is free), please contact one of the Partners at Liberty who will be able to nominate you.
