Liberty advises the management team of Aurora Utilities on its investment from I Squared
Liberty Corporate Finance is delighted to announce that they have advised the management team of Aurora Utilities on its investment from I Squared Capital. Aurora is an independent electricity distribution network operator. I Squared is a leading independent global infrastructure investor.
Aurora is licenced to own and operate electricity distribution networks across Great Britian that connect developments to the electricity grid. Aurora will offer a solution to speed up the deployment of connection infrastructure for critical sectors of the economy and play a vital role in the movement to clean energy.
I Squared will invest $200 million to scale the platform into a large owner of grid infrastructure, connecting customers to the electricity network to support the build out of EV charging stations, battery storage sites, commercial and industrial business as well as new residential housing developments.
I found both the Liberty team’s attention to detail and experience in negotiating a range of different transactions invaluable when it came to helping us understand the commercial implications of the documents we were presented with. What was particularly insightful from the outset was their ability to cut through the documentation and read it back to us in layman’s terms so we understood what we were entering into. Their ability to model various potential sensitivities to support our decision-making and strengthen our negotiating position was also vital in achieving a successful outcome for us as founders.
